I accidentally deleted all the files in my external hard drive by using Recovery Disk Assistant. I misread the caution saying "These steps erase the storage device". Now the Recovery Disk is the only thing in the hard drive.

I searched for Japanese articles that might solve this problem, but none could help me. So I'm writing this thread here although I don't think I can express what I mean in English well. Is there anything I can do to get the files back?

Here's what I thought and did:
I wanted to clean-install Mac OS X Mavericks. I thought I should make a backup just in case I would lose files that I thought were important. My external hard drive had some space, so I thought I could make a back up in that space. Yes, I didn't know the Recovery Disk would take place to a whole storage. And my files are all gone...

I have a backup of my Mac, but don't have a backup of my files in my external hard drive. Can this be the answer to your question?
