I purchased my black iphone 27 days ago so im still in my 30 day return policy at the ATT store. Will they let me return the black one and get the white one instead? Thanks.

awesome :)... hope they have it at the ATT store later.. seems like they're selling out quick

I don't think you'll have a problem getting one. Most people already have an iPhone 4 :D

Why would you not be able to return something something within the 30 day window?

well its because im just changing it for the color... lol. If it was from one phone to a different phone, id get that. But I wasn't sure if theyd let me exchange the same phone for the same phone.

There is absolutely no problem with your request. You would definitely not be the first person to return a brand new phone for the same one in a different color.

Yes, but you're not happy with the color. And you're within your 30-day window, so you're free to exchange/return it.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_2_6 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8E200 Safari/6533.18.5)

So I ordered an iPhone 4 from Verizon and it got shipped to my house. How would I go about exchanging it for the white one? Take to Verizon store? Apple store? And will there be a restocking fee since it's only been 8 days?

Funny, that's not what you said in the OP, you stated you wanted to return the phone and purchase a new one. Are you now talking about exchanging instead of returning?

Because of this thread I went to my local AT&T store. Got there just as they opened, first in line, and exchanged my iP4 without difficulty. It was also the perfect time to go with 32GB as really, 16GB wasn't enough for me.

The white is beautiful and the only fee was the upgrade. The rep. believes it'll be popular enough they'll sell out today.

If you're on the fence I'd suggest going for it especially if you're within that 30 window exchange.

Wow, really? Verizon's website says "A $35 restocking fee($70 for netbooks and tablets) applies to all wireless device returns and all wireless exchanges (excluding Hawaii)."

iPhones should be excluded though. Especially after that whole stink last summer about the antenna, Apple said if you're not happy with the phone for whatever reason, they'll exchange or take it back. AT&T was included, so I don't see why VZW wouldn't also be.

Well, returning + buying again is technically the same as exchanging. OP probably meant the same.

Seriously, what's the difference.

Returning: Refund for your black iPhone and money used to purchase white iPhone.

Exchanging: Handing black iPhone in and getting a white iPhone in return.

Results are the same. Why the semantics?

Edit: vincenz beat me to it.

Here is the deal. If they run your purchase as an account change, it will charge you a 19 or 29 dollar bill to your Att phone bill ( Verizon too I guess). But if you just have the sales person take the sim card from your black iPhone and put it into your white one, they won't even have to touch your account and you won't get any upgrade fee.
