I just installed a trial version of VMware Fusion and one of the first things that popped up was an advisory to get an anti-virus program.

If I were to get a virus or anything that affects a windows based PC can/will it affect my Mac??

Im running the VMware in the more isolated mode.

No, there are no Windows viruses that will affect your Mac and you won't be able to get them anyway

Running Windows still requires the same care as on a PC
I would recommend Microsoft Security Essentials for that

Thanks.

Will take a look at M S E :)

That being said your Windows is still vulnerable so it may need to be erased and reinstalled if infected with something bad, but nothing outside of the Windows installation is susceptible from something within the VM.
