Guys,
I love this community. Within the past few days I've managed to purchase my full name (example; JohnSmith.com) via DreamHost for one year.
My original intent was to create a kick ass website, for the sake of friends (new & old) and family... however discovered this to be a bigger task than originally expected. WordPress & SquareSpace seemed to be the sites I was/am most interested in... however SquareSpace is another $144 a year and being a frugal college student, it's too much to spend on a small friend/family oriented website. WordPress is great considering I already have a domain name purchase (Again, my first and last name.com) however there's a bit of a learning curve with WordPress and i'm not that savvy when it comes down to it.
Truth be told, I want something completely no maintenance.
I then stumbled upon the idea that my website could be my YouTube Channel. After all, I love YouTube and now that I've purchased an iPhone 4 am uploading new and random videos almost everyday. My only concern is that JohnSmith.com looks better on a business card as opposed to YouTube.com/user/JohnSmith --------- and am simply wondering if there is a way for people to visit my JohnSmith.com site and be redirected to my YouTube Channel.
Community, I love you.
