can i give me reservation to someone else? change to 16gig?

So I have a reservation at a local store. But after I booked this, I was able to get through and pre-order a phone.

Does anyone have past experience with going to the store with a friend lets say and giving letting them buy the phone that was reserved for you? Also, will Apple let you switch from a reserved 32 gig to a 16 gig at that time, or are you locked into the one that you reserved?
