There are 3 essential updates in Cydia. They are Cydia Installer, Five Icon Dock, and Winter Board. Im afraid to update any of the three. I dont want to have troubles losing my colorful icons, and im afraid having troubles in my iphone if I update.. WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF I TOTALLY IGNORE UPDATING IN CYDIA??? Please advice me on what to do... THANKS IN ADVANCE...(iPhone 3GS, 32GB, Version 3.1.2(7D11), Modem Firmware 05.11.07) (jailbroked and unlocked)

Yes, you dont have to install them if everything runs fine and you dont want the new features or bug fixes added to newer packages.
