can i import a ripped file into imovie?

I have mac the ripper and i have ripped an old skiing dvd on to my computer and i wanted to import it into imove to compress and put on youtube... i tried to import it but it wasn't working... any suggestions?

use handbrake to create an .mp4 of the video and import that into imovie

You need to convert the TS folder to DV or another format that iMovie will take, if you want to edit with iMovie

If you don't need to edit anything, then you can use handbrake to convert / compress.
