Can I install 3.0 GM, then restore to 2.2 and bring to apple store for exchange?

So my iPhone hasn't been performing at its greatest so I'm going to take it into the genius bar next week but I'm really anxious to try 3.0

When they plug the iPhone into their computer they can see its restore history, will they see the 3.0?
