Hello! The Evasi0n program continues to crash as soon as I open it, and I realized that it is likely due to my OS version being 10.5.8. I believe it requires 10.6 to install...something about a library file. I am considering using a Windows computer on hand to install the jailbreak. However, will this compromise the fact that this phone syncs to a macbook normally? I don't know how the Evasi0n installation works in terms of being itunes or not being connected, so any help in the matter would be appreciated so I don't have to spend the time or money updating my OS. Thanks!

It shouldn't be a problem, you could do the jailbreak on Windows or on another Mac, and keep using your iPhone with your Mac and iTunes just like before.

Unfortunately, the evasi0n program doesn't recognize my iPhone when it is plugged into the Windows-based laptop. The option to Jailbreak is grayed out, and I can't select it. The computer recognized the iPhone as such, but really only gave me the option to download photos from it. Any thoughts, or do I need to seek out a fancier mac OS?
