Can I install OSX on an SD instead of SSD ?

I read one solution to use a small SSD as the drive to install OS X which can be positioned in the place of the DVD drive and keep the usual HDD in its place to have lots of GB.

Since I only need 10GB-32GB to install OS X and its much cheaper, why not to use an SD card to boot from and keep the HDD to store my data ? I need to know if its possible and how to be installed inside.

Yes, that is possible, but SD cards are often slower than HDDs, unless you have a very fast SD card and the slot can use that speed, which is only possible, if you have USB 3.0. Otherwise you will be limited to USB 2.0 speeds even with that card reader.

Possible, but a bad idea. SD cards are designed for orderly, sequential data access, as in reading image data. For hosting an OS, this poses obvious issues. Doubt you'd find it a pleasant user experience or s very robust one.
