Hello,
Is it possible to install the 2.0 software on the 1st GEN version of the iPod Touch? I think it is but I need confirmation. Will someone tell me if I am correct or not? I would like to run some of the games that are available for the iPod Touch but they require 2.0 software. Please Advise.

Absolutely. You should able to purchase it directly from iTunes for $10.00. It will download and install on your 1G iPod.

Ok, Great. I have a stupid question I suppose some will think but i need a answer. I have a 1st Gen iPod Touch and it is jail broken. I really don't care about it being jail broken. I would rather not have that anyway. The applications are not as good as the 2.0 version applications. So my question is should I restore my ipod first before upgrading to the 2.0 software update or will upgrading remove the jail broken effect by itself? Any ideas?

the jailbreak will be lost when you update to legit 2.0
and i suggest you become legit

however i beleive there is a 2.0 jailbreak version im not sure

but i rather have the legit version cuz its not as laggy

I agree I would rather be legit too. But should I do a restore first?
Or will the 2.0 wipe out the jailbreak for me?

I've never tried Jailbreaking my Touch 2G however it may be better to play it safe by restoring first as it's a chance your Touch gets bricked while upgrading to 2.0 on a Jailbroken Touch. Good luck.:)
