Can I jailbreak and unlock this Iphone 3gs?

I am thinking of buying an Iphone from someone and he has a ios4 on it, and it has not been jailbreaked or unlocked.

Can someone tell me 3gs with ios4.0 can be unlocked and jailbreaked or not?

Noone knows when it will be ready.
Could be days, weeks or even a month.

from everything I have read from the dev team the JB and the Unlock are done. they are now just trying to get all of the apps like face time working properly. I know for a fact that Saurik has an unlocked iPhone 4 and Planet being just updraded to 4.0.1 and the unlock worked. so just have patience and hopefully soon it will happen.

just be thankful and not demanding and all will be well!
