Have an iPad 1 3G, and I'm curious if I'll be able to just take the sim out of that one and insert it into the new one. I'm grandfathered in with the unlimited data.... but something tells me that AT&T would LOVE to find a way to get me out of that plan.

From what I understand "we" will be grandfathered in, but I don't know if that means we can just swap out SIM cards or sign in with our existing membership on the new iPad 2. Anyone else know for sure?

Well if that's true - that'll be great. I guess we'll have to wait until someone in our position gets their grubby little hands on one!

There has been conflicting info from AT&T reported here on the Forum

I spoke to an AT&T rep at a store who said it was fine to just swap them
Others have been told they must call AT&T to have it switched

The guy at the Apple Store told me the iPads do not have sim cards at all
Ha, Ha
He also told me I was mistaken, that I didn't have unlimited data

I spoke with an ATT rep a few days ago. In a FAQ they have it states you just swap sim cards.

+1 I love it when sales staff assume we the public are stupid! Often has been the case at various retail stores where I've been just window shopping and do more "selling" to our fellow shoppers!
