My venerable 2006 MBP 17" running 10.6.8 can no longer talk to my iPhone now that I've upgraded to iOS9. Is there anything at all I can do to get round that? The specs say that I can't upgrade OSX any further because Lion upwards need Core 2 Duo. Is that a genuinely insurmountable obstacle?
The situation isn't completely lost because I have a 2009 Mac mini running 10.11.1, but I've always used my MBP for syncing and backing up my iPhone, and my music library isn't mirrored on the Mac mini. If the MBP really is permanently out of the picture now, what would be the best way of switching to the mini as the means of managing the phone?
