I have a bulletin forum I frequent that id like to have a home screen link to the new posts link. It's not a tapatalk forum so no dice there. Can't add it after accessing the new posts search because it redirects to a cached search link. Basically I want the link to go to search.php?do=getnew rather than the search id link you get in vbulletin...

Have you tried editing the link in the browser before hitting the button to turn it into a desktop link? I mean go to the page, click in the url bar, edit the link, and then click to add a bookmark to the desktop.

Similar issue

I had a similar issue with a website I visited. I wanted the newest page linked on my home screen but it would auto forward to the newest page after you typed in .com/new
What I did was turn on airplane mode opened up safari typed in the website with .com/new it didn't open so it didn't forward me to the newest page. Saved that page onto my home screen and now the icon on my iPad always brings me to the newest article.
Hope that helps!
