I've ordered the 2.5GHz MBP with 2GB RAM and want to upgrade it to 4GB.

Will it be ok to order it (through Crucial or Kingston or whoever) now, just by putting in the details of an older MBP? Would be nice for the RAM to be here waiting when the new MBP arrives.

Shame I need to throw out the 2 1GB boards though.

Don't think there's a difference between the RAM these models take compared to the last ones... Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

And don't throw the old ones out, keep them as a backup - in case the new set die at some point. You don't want to be left without a computer thinking 'if only I kept those old RAM chips...'
