Can I pre-order in-store?

Sorry if this has been answered...

When I got my 3GS, I ordered and paid for it about a week in advance at my local AT&T store. Then I went by and picked it up hassle free on launch day.
Any word if we will be able to do that again?
Or will I be forced to either order online or wait in some massive line over night?
