Can I purchase apple care through costco at the cheaper price if I got my laptop off the apple website?

So I was there today and I can get apple care on the 16" macbook pro for 299 while it's 339 on the apple website. Am I able to buy it seperately like this? Just checking before I pull the trigger, thank you!
