I want to replace my standard dvd writer in my g5 with maybe a dual layer DVD writer, is this possible?

If you want to be able to use the system based burning (from disc utility or itunes, or the desktop) your choices are narrower. If you use Toast, however, you can use almost any drive out there.

How would u install a disc drive into the g5 then??

thanks guys

It should be in your documentation.

If you know which model it is I can point you to the Apple Support documents.

I've done it before without any instructions.

are the apple support docs online??

You're welcome.

It's not that hard when you have the instructions with nice clear pictures.

Do you need any other help?

lol unless you can help me with my macbook, installed leopard yest on it, worked finee. now when i start up the macbook, this blue screen appears, i'll post a pic, one second

Leopard isn't something I've experienced yet. :(

dnt worry ure not missing out on that much man, a bunch of bugs seen as its on its first release, look at my macbook dont even know how to take this screen away, is there any way you can like reboot it?

Hard shutdown? Hold down the power button for about 5-10 seconds.

Otherwise, unplug it and let the battery completely drain. If you're REALLY daring, try unplugging and pulling the battery (I do NOT advise this).
