When I upgraded from Leopard to Snow Leopard, I didn't do anything about my existing WinXP Boot Camp partition - I just left it as it was. I hadn't actually needed to boot into Windows for some time before upgrading OSX. All I did was erase my Leopard partition and do a clean install of SL.

Now, nearly a year later, I do finally need to use Windows again, but although the WinXP partition is still there just as it was under Leopard, it no longer shows up as an available startup disk.

I've gone into Boot Camp Assistant to see if there is any option for re-enabling the Windows partition, but there's nothing. It recognises that there is a Windows partition existing because it gives me the option to remove it, and it also gives me the option to start the Windows installer, but that's all. There appears to be nothing there to allow an existing Windows partition to be re-enabled as a startup disk.

Is there a quick and easy fix for this, or do I have to clone the XP install, delete and recreate the partition with SL Boot Camp, and then reinstall from the clone?
