Can I re-jailbreak 3G (running 4.2.1) to newer 5.0.1 JB???

I've searched everywhere and every IPSW newer than 4.2.1 doesn't list 3G as a compatible device. Is there a JB that will allow me to restore with 5.0.1 then JB my 3G?

I'm sorry if this is a dumb question but I can't find anything in search and every time I google it it shows everything for 3GS. Are the JB's the same for 3GS and 3G?

Please, please help!!!
