Lately google maps app on both iPhone and iPad has added large (relatively speaking) photo icons to certain places (examples shown by the black arrows below) and I find them annoying and distracting and I'd like to turn them off. Is this possible please, I've looked in the settings and can't find a way to do it. They're not there when I use google maps online on my Mac.
