Can I rename Safari icon in the dock?

I would like to rename safari in the dock to "Browse the Internet" like the internet explorer in system 7. I tried right click the icon and in finder but no luck.

You could create an alias by dragging the Safari icon within your Applications directory and then holding down opt + command before you put it down. Then you rename that alias to “Browse the Internet” and put that icon into your Dock (you have to quit Safari and remove it from the Dock first).
