unlocking my 32GB 3Gs using the iPad baseband firmware "upgrade" caused such bugginess that I went and bought a used 16GB 4s yesterday despite the rapidly impending 5 release.

I cut my old AT&T SIM down using scissors and it works great.

Not sure of the best way to get all the old stuff onto this one (or if it would all even fit; I forget how much is on it). I'm concerned to avoid similar SW trouble on the new phone, but I would like all of my old texts, apps and their settings, histories, etc.

I've been out of the loop for a couple of years, so I don't even know if plugging my new phone in will require some sort of activation or something. Is there some 3rd party SW that'll make all of this more headache-free?

Thanks for any tips guys.
