Universal Can I restore an older version of an app to my Iphone?

Hi all,

Please I would like to know if it is possible to replace the app on my iphone will an older version which I can retrieve from time machine backup of my laptop.


The other question I have is do ios apps still need to be downloaded or stored in my macbook and what purpose does it serve
