I accidentally erased some photos.... thing is Timemachine backs up every hour, this happenned so quickly that it had to time to do a backup of it... will I be able to restore from my trash??

I have camera salvage but thing is I have to surf all pictures instead of asking to restore one specific folder...

please help, my wife is going to kill me...

thanks

2 questions: Are your pics still in the trash? If so could you just get them out?
How is it that TM has not previously backed up your pics? Did you just place this pics on your Mac?

There is no "restore" feature for the Trash as it's not a Recycle Bin. There's no button to just click to restore pics back to their original place, that's what TM is for.

Trash is already empty

TM did not back up my files I believe because has a 1 hour interval...meaning it did not get the files when they were there.

Any ideas?

If you need to recover files from your hard drive that have been Emptied from the Trash, shut the machine off now, and leave it off until you have some recovery software like Data Rescue II

OSX overwrites deleted space fairly quickly so every minute you use the machine reduces the chance of recovery.

I don't think there is a way to recover your files...

Dude,you are dead!!!Face it!!!

You don't think there's a way. But there is... data recovery (software/ send in to factory). To the OP, do data recovery (software) before it's lost!

Regretfully, the way OS X works, once the files are deleted from trash the data tends to be overwritten within minutes. So if the photos are not on your Time Machine, I'd say there is very little chance of recovering them.

Doesn't hurt to try though, right?

EDIT: Wait, this thread is from 2008 lol.
