So I just got this new external hd that only has usb2 and no firewire, I did some looking around the boards, and figured that I can only boot from a firewire drive.

Here's what I want to do, I want to backup (ghost) my entire hd (40gb) to the external hd(245gb), and be able to restore from it, if ever the pb crashes.

I want a total backup, so that if I restore, it will have all the stuff that I had, I did a lot of software upgrades, and little changes to software so I want to keep them.

Is this possible with my current setup, or should I just buy a firewire drive?
