Can i restore to the 4.0 GM canidate custom firmware again?

Im currently JB on my 3gs with 4.0 candidate via pwnagetool. Since the new 4.0 is different than the candidate, will iTunes let me restore using the custom candidate firmware that i already have or should i use use pwnagetool to make a new custom firmware using the new 4.0? Just asking because i don't want to loose my unlock.
