Can I return a MBP?

My parents bought me a MacBook Pro (Base Model, 13") on Friday afternoon for my birthday. Suppose there's an update on Tuesday/in the next 14 days, can I just go into an Apple store, with all of my packaging/manuals/box, and have them exchange it? (If it's the same price, if not, pay the difference)

You can...but if it's open there is a restocking fee.

Yes but you have to pay restocking fee in some countries e.g. US.
