Can I revert back to Mavericks?

Noticed HS has this new formatting. In the past I was able to simply restore my Carbon Copy from ext storage but am not sure the new formatting is gonna give me grief.

Depends on your Mac, they no likey OSX that are older then them!

Ex a macbook from 2016 will not run Mavericks

You can just reformat your drive as HFS+ and no problem

Thanks, that makes sense. Oh yeah, this is a 2011 Mac, have MAV backup stored on an ext.

You have to reformat the drive from High Sierra though. Clone your OS installation to another drive (or install High Sierra on another drive), boot from the clone then reformat your drive. Then reinstall Mavericks.
