I'm interested in jailbreaking my 2g ipod touch. Is it possible for me to rollback firmware and quickpwn after that? I know 2.2.1 is not available yet.

Thanks in advance.

You can't downgrade your iPhone software from Apple. You can probably find any older version to download and then install.

It might just be easier to wait until they come out with the 2.2.1 jailbreak if you are not in a big hurry to get it.

I know that I can't from apple. I can find the firmware for 2.1 but my question is weather or not it is able to be jailbroken with that version.

I realize 2.2.1 is not jailbroken yet but the prior firmwares have been correct?

SO i would be able to DL the old firmware, install it and then jailbreak correct?

Seriously, no.

The iPod Touch 2G isn't the same as the 1G. They are two different devices.

It's not about rolling back firmware with the 2G.

This is the only way to jailbreak your iPod Touch 2G at this point in time.

So, again: no.

From here :
To make that easier to understand, unless the processor that is inside the new 2nd-gen iPod touch is used in a future iPhone, they aren’t interested. This is because there is a new processor in the 2nd-gen iPod touch (s5l8720x) with a new bootrom
