I have a 3.2 gig machine that I have not used in a while and is taking up space in my closet...

Can I run OS X on it somehow???

I suspect the answer is no, but I am no expert.

Touchy subject. Short answer: Not unless you like breaking the EULA of OS X.

I recommend running Ubuntu if you don't like Windows...it can be great if you put the effort in :)

Worth a shot to check out, as long as you don't pirate the OS.

Some of the Hackintosh sites list the motherboards/chipsets best suited to this task.

You will break the EULA, but so what ... they don't go after individuals, only after businesses and anyone trying to sell a machine with the Mac OS pre-loaded.

Does it really matter if he pirates the OS at this point. You are recommending him to break the EULA as it is.

One is a criminal act (sort of, all depends on where you are in the chain), the other a civil matter between you and Apple.
