Can I save mail.app messages directly to iCloud Drive?

Hello all, I have a MacBook air with a small HD. It's perfect for what I do accept one thing: mail.app takes up way too much space. My alternative is using the web-based iCloud -- and it sucks.

Is there any way to saves my messages to iCloud Drive instead?

Thanks for any suggestions.
