I really like the login screen with the woven gray strands with the apple logo imprinted in it, and I would love to use this as my desktop background, even if it has my user icon and name there.

Can some how take a screenshot of my login window? Or is there a way to find the file of that background to use as my desktop background?

Thanks for any help! ;)

Here is the location of the png file
The file is called NSTexturedFullScreenBackgroundColor.png, and the path to get to it is:

/System/Library/Frameworks/AppKit.framework/Versions/C/Resources.

Idea

Does anyone know how I can hack that background into Pages for when I am working in fullscreen mode?
I think that the pitch black background against a pure white page is a bit harsh, so I made the background a gray like color, but thought it would look even better with the gray linen background.

Thanks:D

Right click on Pages app, show package contents and look around, I'm sure you can find it. If not play around in /System/Library/CoreServices maybe.

I looked around in there, but not sure exactly what I am looking for:confused:

I would look for png files that were titled to give a clue. For example NSTexturedFullScreenBackgroundColor, is a clue that it is/was the log in window pattern. If the title of the png file was background_color.png, and it was located in the Pages app then that would be a clue, but since it is probably system wide, I would look in the system files.
I have no clue where to look, I'm just guessing.
