i doubt it even if it's possible the cost will be too high. just get a modbook if that's something you're after.

well I have my problems with the modbook - I would like something that could do portrait view instead of ONLY landscape. And I think I would rather get a 500 dollar PC tablet for what I need it for - that's why it would be nice if I could pay for a mod to this guy, ya know?

I know about the itab going under... anyone else?

just call the modbook guys and ask them. i'm sure all you need is a software tweak to enable the portrait mode.

It doesn't do portrait right now... but Axiotron (the manufacturer) is trying to resolve the issue along with Apple.

That a bit of the mystery question right now. I ordered January 8th 2008 and was told it would ship on or before February 5th. It says on OWC's website that new orders will be fulfilled on or before February 22nd.

Problem is, there are still people who pre-ordered LAST YEAR that haven't gotten theirs yet. A guy just posted on my blog that he ordered Jan 7 2007 and it just shipped today. Another guy on the ModBook Google Group ordered in February 2007 and just got his today.

We're trying to establish some kind of timeline, but it's been impossible and both the reseller (OWC) and the manufacturer (Axiotron) are being all hush hush about it. It's very discouraging.

mmmm i can't wait untill there is some sort of standard shipping estimate. I am making my first foray into tablet computing on a cheap pc tablet so that i can decide if I can effectively work in max/msp and logic (i know I'll have to infer on the logic part)

It's hard to know for sure but OWC is saying they'll be caught up for sure by the end of February. I'll be interested to see if I get mine this week (or at least it ships) as that was the original estimate.
