iOS Can I set date type for Application Preference?

I found there is a Date type in Application Preference of General, I want to do it in my app, but when I set type to Date and select my app in Application Settings, my app is fault to be executed, how can I do it?

This is from my iPad, so I think Apple should have source for date type in Application Settings.
