I set up my new iPhone as new and logged into iCloud on the new iPhone, so it’s downloading all my iCloud stuff.

can I log out of my iCloud on my old iPhone now? Or do I have to wait until iCloud on the new iPhone downloads all the photos and messages?

You can log out now. What the new phone is downloading is coming from the cloud and not from the old phone.

However, that said, I usually prefer to wait until the new phone is set up and running before I wipe the old one, just on the off chance that there was a sync issue or something and not everything made it to the cloud.

As long as you have time it’s probably safer to wait, but if you’re in a rush it’s pretty low risk to wipe the old phone before the new one is done.

Thanks. I’m so annoyed That my what’s app didn’t back up all my last chats and I don’t think I can log back into my old what’s app on my old iPhone.

Hmm am I going to have a problem with my phone if I didn’t sign out of iCloud? I just reset and erased all content and settings

Did you have to enter a passwort for your iCloud when doing so? If yes, everything is as it should be. :)
