Is it possible to use a divice like a Belkin FireWire 6-Port Hub and not run into any CPU consumption issues or slow downs?

My concern is that I am recording with Pro Tools LE 8 on a MB403LL/A (2.4Ghz 13.3" early '08) and I have a FW external HD OWC 320 7200rpm and I NEED to use it.
I also have a USB interface that allegedly consumes much CPU and would be better if ran via FW.
BUT! I only have 1 FW port....

Any and all help is appreciated guys.
thanks!

If your external HD enclosure has two 6-pin fw ports, you should be able to daisy chain without a separate hub.

I understand now why I have two FW's thanks....

Does it slow the computer down? What is the technical effect on the :apple:?

Thanks!

It won't slow your computer down, no. It will slow down transfer speeds if you try to use both devices at once, but otherwise it shouldn't adversely affect you.
