Can I still buy from Apple store if I already pre-ordered?

I was late and didn't get my Apple.com pre-order in until June 21, which means I have a July 14th ship date.

My question is, "Can I wait in line at the apple store tomorrow morning, buy a new iPhone 4, and then cancel my apple.com order? or will I not be eligible to buy a new iPhone at the apple store because i've already bought/paid for my 1 upgrade?"

or, the more sensible option:

Should I just hold my horses and wait until July?
