Can I still customize the tool bar?

I just got a new MBP, and I'm trying to customize the toolbar in the finder window. Right now it's only showing the batter, airplay, and time... Can I add more to this or has it all been designated to the Touch Bar now?? I hope not.. If I can.. How??

IMHO, Finder customization is maddeningly obtuse. But then I poke at it a few times and...
- Right click on the top frame: Customize Toolbar
- Finder Preferences
- The little icon at the top can be dragged and dropped, or right-clicked to show the path
