Yes, I've already unchecked the "copy files to Itunes Media folder".

Nearly every file is duplicated in itunes, but there only exists one file within the Itunes Media folder.

A search within Finder only shows one file as well.

What's going on here? Is there a way I can stop it. Even if I wipe my drive and take a single folder from an external drive (with no duplicates), Itunes STILL produces duplicates.

I went through and tediously deleted 2000 duplicate files only to find out that the songs wouldn't play anymore.

After that, I did a test run and find that no matter which duplicate I delete, the songs won't play.
