Not sure where this question belongs, but I was wondering about my new ipad air 2. Right now, I watch stuff from my Windows computer, to my TV with a 25' monitor cable.

I want to go wireless. I just got a new ipad and want to stream to TV with Apple TV. If I got an Apple TV, can I stream from my ipad to TV without an Internet connection?

If I ever get in a situation where I don't have Internet, if I go to a coffee shop and download a video, I want to be able to come home and watch it on my TV.

In Windows, I don't need an Internet connection to watch it on TV. Can you use Apple TV to stream from an ipad to TV without Internet?

Thank you.
Chris.

You need a network connection for the iPad to talk to the Apple TV - but no internet.

When I say you need a network connection this can either be a home network (with or without Internet), or the Apple TV can create a network just for it and whichever device you wish to AirPlay to it. There's a guide on iMore which explains the second option.
