Can I switch my iPhone account to another iPhone temporarily?

Well, unfortunately my iphone 4 died on me last night and became stuck in recovery mode and I've tried every fix I could find via Google, Apple Support, and this forum, to no avail. So, I have no choice but to take it to a genius bar at the local Apple Store. However, I have a first gen iPhone that still works fine and I was wondering if there's any way I can switch my iPhone 4 account to that phone until I'm able to get my iPhone 4 repaired. Or am I just SOL and will have to wait it out?

Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

Go to your carrier and get a regular sized SIM for your iPhone. You should be able to do that fairly easily.

The micro-sim from the IP4 won't work unless you buy an adapter.

A temp adapter is easy to fashion out of a piece of card or plastic.

What if I have the original SIM that came with the first gen iPhone still installed in the phone. Can I just re-activate that or do I still have to buy a new SIM?

Try it and it works great and if doesn't then you'll need a new one.

No, once the sim has been deactivated, it is useless
