Can I switch sim cards between 16 and 32gb iPhone

My husband got me the 16gb iPhone 4 and he wasn't planning on upgrading
just yet. Well he changed his mind and all they had was the 32gb. I would
rather have the bigger phone and thought I could just switch the sim cards
and re-sync. When my husband asked the Apple people they said we couldn't do that. They said I need to come in and return my phone and rebuy the 32gb.

Is this right??

if you have both phones in hand (meaning you've already activated them on their respective lines) then go ahead and swap sims. There's no reason to bring it back.

no.

but you can call Apple and have them change the number/serial match if you wanna be thorough.
