No. But you can talk to an AIM friend in Adium with an AIM account.

To amplify: this is not an Adium issue. Instead it is that the companies that provide these services (Google and AOL in this case) won't/can't communicate between these protocols. This is almost definitely not Google's fault, as they provide interconnects to anyone else who is using the Jabber protocol. AOL has been making noises about providing a AIM-Jabber bridge, but nothing has actually come of that yet.

Yeah...how else would that work?

The beauty of adium is you can be signed in to multiple IM clients at the same time. I have .mac, aim, yahoo and msn SNs all with integrated buddy lists.
