Hi,

I'm looking to upgrade to a better mac book and I was just wondering if the apple store or apple retailers (specifically my mac dealer) would allow me to trade-in my ibook g4 for a discounted price on a new mac?
I've searched the forums and apple site, but I can't find any information about this, and I'm not really comfortable selling it on ebay!

Thanks!

Try Craigslist, you could probably get a decent amount for it, and if you do a trade in if allowed, they'll most likely only credit you $200.

apple stores won't do trade ins. What other retailers do is totally up to them. So you could call and ask.

Offer it up for sale HERE.

I've sold two Macbooks (1st gen white and a current gen black) here as well as my 12" iBook (last gen).

They don't meet the minimum requirements to list a for sale thread on this site. If you do try to sell it here, it will be more then likely deleted since you can't post in the Marketplace let alone even see it.

I also suggest listing locally on Craigslist.com. Depending on specs, you can probably get $250-$450 for it.

More incentive to be more active in the forums...so they CAN utilize the Marketplace. ;)
