I have DirecTV DVR HD and record quite a bit. I'd like to be able to save the recordings to my computer so I don't have to delete as many shows/movies. Any way to transfer the recordings to my mac?

I am pulling recordings off my Directv DVR using the Hauppauge HD PVR 1212, It's running @ about $200. It plugs right into the Component VIdeo cables and does on the fly H.264 encoding.
It's working out pretty well, but unfortunately it is not currently supported for OS X. So what I've had to do is use it in XP in Boot Camp (don't use PArrallels, it doesn't work very nicely in that environment, there seems to be a big drop off in quality when workng virtualized XP).
One big draw back is that you have to record in real-time, and your DVR can't be watching anything else @ that time.
So what I've been doing is before I go to bed or work, fire up a recording (you can set a timer on the recording software).
