I think I should ask here instead with Vodafone AU first because it's the weekend...

So I just got a new iPad Micro SIM and the number that came with is so easy to remember I really want to use this number on my iPhone.

Now I've heard of stories that these SIMs are not interchangeable and my iPhone is only arriving next week so I can't test them, has anyone done it or know if it's possible to transfer a number from an iPad Micro SIM to any SIM card to start with?

Is it the SIM, or the account information on the SIM? Do they take SIMs from a common stock and just program them one way or another? Do the iPad SIMs have a phone number, but somewhere it just says 'data only'?

I know that on my DSL Internet-only account, there's a 'ghost' phone number tied to the account, and if I were ever to activate voice service, it would have that number.
