I'm currently both moving all data off of a Vtrak RAID attached to an Xserve that's being shared through 10.6 Server. Just today somehow our LDAP server got hosed, all the user accounts are gone, so there are some permissions errors and I had to do a quick and dirty new shared admin account and permissions for everyone to get on the server from the network.

To help make both tasks easier, can I simply turn off ownership on the whole RAID from the XServe's Finder? Not sure if I'd have to do a chmod 775 (or ?) on everything on that drive as well.

Quickest/easiest solution to make it easy for everyone able to access everything including me as I am archiving data onto external drives (also with ownership turned off).

Thanks!
