Well I am buying the phone pretty soon. I know the phone was bought sometime in January since its under warranty until January 16th, 2011. So it was bought Jan 16th 2010.
Wish there was an easier way to check boot rom version. I have 3.1.3 on mine and last time I tried to get into DFU it went into endless DFU\recovery loop and the only way to get out was to totally restore, not pleasant.
If my model # is MB718LL and my serial is 88017V***** does that determine if it's able to be up'd to 4.0 and JB'd\unlocked?
If you have the 3GS and upgraded to ios 4 (version 8A293) already, all I can say is good luck. 1600 and 1604 error codes will become a familiar site every time you try to jailbreak. (Confirmed with firmware 05.13.04)
And Spirit does not support the 3GS on ios 4 as of yet. All you will get is an error message that says, "Device iPhone 3GS (4.0) not supported"
Waiting for the Dev Team to crack this. Hopefully within the next day or two.
